I focused on three activities that I could replicate with the use of small kits :
catapults made from tongue depressors small cardboard looms , which we connected to the story of Arachne and Athena Roman dice and board games made from paper
For 150 students the total cost was about $ 250 . I put the kits together in small paper bags . The process of assembling the bags was time-consuming , but when I saw kids opening their kits and exploring the contents it was evident that the time was well spent . For brevity ’ s sake , I will focus on the catapult
lesson .
