MEMORIAL AWARD
Excellence Through Classics is honored to announce the presentation of the 23rd annual Julia K . Petrino Memorial Award at the 2022 American Classical League Institute , held in June .
The Julia K . Petrino Memorial Award was established to honor middle school classical scholars who exemplify the dedication , discipline , and love of classics displayed by the young woman for whom the award is named .
This award was established by Julia K . Petrino ' s middle school Latin teacher , Lauri Dabbieri , as well as family and friends of Julia .
The recipients are selected by committee from a group of middle school students nominated by their teachers based upon their participation in the Pegasus National Mythology Exam and other activities in the field of classics .
All teachers administering the Pegasus National Mythology Exam to middle school students will receive nomination forms for this award , and the deadline will be June 15 , 2023 .

Award winners receive a savings bond and a profile published in PRIMA .
