With each fall issue of PRIMA , I find myself wanting to discuss how quickly the school year has already flown by . While we write and compile articles for this publication , our contributors are also teaching courses , delivering workshops , and attending conferences . When I take a moment to consider it , members of ETC might be the most hardworking colleagues I know . Advocacy for classics just does not take a day off .
This issue features articles and original work that will renew your hope in the continuation of classics education . Program Chair Katy Reddick details the events and achievements of Excellence Through Classics at the 2023 ACL Institute . ETC Interim Chair Jenn Jarnagin reports on recent honors received by classics educators . Nathalie Roy shares how her class came to host a Classics Day at the Louisiana Art & Science Museum -- inspiring a love of classics in even more students .
We are honored to profile the 2022-2023 Petrino Award recipients , Irene Kim and Alexander Jaeger . This issue also includes top-scoring entries in the SCRIBO Latin Creative Writing Contest and the Medusa Creative Writing Contest .
PRIMA is also committed to helping provide resources for classics educators . We hope you enjoy this issue ’ s free resource , a summative assessment for 8th grade Latin students from Megan DeGraff .
With all that our colleagues and students accomplish , it is indeed an exciting time in classics education ! We hope you enjoy this fall issue of PRIMA .
