2020 . The contest kicked off in February with a submission deadline of April 1 . The wedding was to take place on Sunday , June 7 , at St . Paul United Church of Christ . MPST Board member and St . Paul UCC Pastor Dana Worsham was chair of the contest . “ There is no greater demonstration of the love of God than the exchanging of vows of a committed couple willing to devote themselves to one another ,” Pastor Worsham said . “ St . Paul ’ s is proud to host the wedding and bless the couple as they begin their new life together .”
Event planning continued in March with the announcement of an open call to all LGBTQIA + artists over the age of 18 in Corpus Christi and the Coastal Bend to submit works to be considered of an art exhibit at the PRIDE Center in the Coastal Bend Wellness Foundation ( CBWF ), 2882 Holly Road . The exhibit was to be a new partnership between the MPST , which puts on PRIDE activities , and the CBWF . Local queer artist Jose Gonzales IV volunteered to curate the exhibit . “ We want to celebrate the achievements of and gain recognition for LGBTQIA + artists in the Coastal Bend ,” Gonzales said . “ It is important to shine the light on the artistic talent and creativity within the LGBTQIA + community and to amplify their voice .” No specific subject matter is required to be exhibited .
