Mayor Joe McComb issued a proclamation today at City Hall declaring October 1-31 , 2020 , in Corpus Christi as LGBT History Month . Mayor McComb presented the proclamation to the Mosaic Project of South Texas President Tom Tagliabue and Board member Sofia Jimenez .
The Mayor ’ s proclamation declares “ The City of Corpus Christi is proud to be an inclusive city for everyone , regardless of gender , race , religion , nationality , disability , sexual orientation , gender identity or gender expression .” Further it encourages Corpus Christi residents to join together in honoring the trailblazers who helped pave the way for LGBTQ rights and visibility in the ongoing fight for equality and champion respect , dignity , and equality , to celebrate the great diversity of our community .
