During the summer , the Coastal Bend Wellness Foundation ( CBWF ) published its quarterly magazine “ Hard Candy ”. The Board of the MPST submitted an article and placed a full-page ad in the publication . One of the statements in the article was : “ Our ability to be resilient in the face of this pandemic is going to be our community ’ s latest historical challenge . Just as we have fought discrimination in housing and employment , the AIDS crisis , mental and physical abuse of conversion therapy , marriage inequality , gender inequality , including homophobia and transphobia , and all sorts of other incidents that put us in peril , we must unite now like never before . Life as we knew it will most likely never be the same . In the short term , the motto the community chose for PRIDE 2020 ( Stand Out , Stand Proud / Destácate , Enorgullécete ) is being morphed to reflect current conditions – Stay Strong , Stay Proud , Stay Home .”
