•  Enhanced penalties including the “mandatory revocation” provisions for sexual intercourse or other specified acts of physical sexual relations between health professionals and their patients. These provisions in the Regulated Health Professions Act came into force on December 31, 1993. In 1999, a new Task Force was struck by the Minister of Health and Long-Term Care, to review the effectiveness and impact of the RHPA. That Task Force reported to the Health Professions Regulatory Advisory Council (HPRAC), which then made recommendations to the Minister in 2001.
