Ever since the release of the song “Walk This Way” by Aerosmith, Rock has turned into Rap and Pop has evolved into Hip-Hop. I think people have the wrong taste in music. Ever since the 1950s, Rock & Roll, a musical genre begun by African-American blues singers such as Blind Willie Johnson, has been prospering in the musical market. Singers from Chuck Berry to Jon Bon Jovi were giving the world some of the greatest music in existence--Rock & Roll, the rock and redeemer of children from four decades of music: the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s.

It would be interesting to know if any readers of this article understand the meaning of the title of this article. Just in case you do not, before the CD and iTunes, people listened to music from vinyl records. People had to put the record on a record player, on which the listener would have to move an arm with a needle on the end and drop the end of the needle on the record, so that it would play. These people would have to go out to the store, find the record they wanted, and then go home and work the record player.

Today, in 2014, it is way easier to listen to music.

It’s quite simple really. The listener opens his device, goes to the iTunes store, searches the music he wants, presses a button, and then the music is loaded into his music app to be listened to.

Nowadays, any lame “musician” can get on the Billboard. As long as you have expensive equipment,

you can autotune your voice to any extent. Take Nicki Minaj, for example. She has no talent. But how come she makes more than Billy Joel and Simon and Garfunkel ever made? In case you know nothing about Simon and Garfunkel, here is some information you might want to know.

First of all, Simon is not the first name of the man. Neither is Garfunkel. Their names are Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel. They were Jewish Manhattaner Folk Rock singers who made one of the most successful

duos in musical history. They are famously known for the songs “Mrs. Robinson”, “Bridge Over Troubled Water” and “The Boxer”, “Sound of Silence”, and other such soongs.

Chcek out “The Boxer” by Simon and Garfunkel.

Music will naturally change throughout time. However, there is no law saying that old music cannot be listened to or remembered. That is something the Lady GaGa and Justin Bieber fans will never take away from the faithful listeners and viewers of Rock & Roll.

A Musical Rant: Is There Any Music Worth Dropping the Needle for Anymore?
