Under construction is CHAR BLU Riverside, a restaurant and full-service bar with a rooftop and large patio in Champlin. The restaurant is part of the next phase of development for the Mississippi Crossings area, which is situated on the Mississippi riverfront. Plans are for the restaurant to open this fall.

Plans are underway for a new elementary school in the northwest corner of the city. The city is working with the Osseo Area School District to build a 139,000-square-foot school at 18375 Arbor Ridge Parkway.
