He is a highly Skilled Jazz / blues guitarist who writes songs that evoke the style and quality of the Beatles, Willie Nelson, Lyle Lovett, Bob Dylan etc while flooring the listener with a musicality and guitar skill uncommon among "Singer Songwriters".

Sage is a former guitar student of the brilliant Tuck Andress (Tuck and Patti) and he obviously learned his lessons well as fingers fly and harmonic music flows out of every song.
Sage has really developed his singing voice over the years and his youthful elastic vocals defy reality of age as he enters his 47th year as a professional working musician.
In those 47 years Sage has played every type of gig from 22 piece big bands in San Francisco, to opening for Clint Black as the guitarist /band leader for a 3 girl Country pop group (Arrowheart -now Heartlyn Rae )at the Celebrity Theatre in Phoenix Az to touring Japan in a 7 piece Disco band in 1980 , to touring New Zealand for 5 months in 1999-2000 as a solo artist, and as such , over the years,opening for many national and international acts such as Lukas Nelson,Shooter Jennings and Stargunn, Jason Mraz, Quiet Riot, Kris Delmhorst, Tristan Prettyman, Reckless Kelly, Patrice Pike Janiva Magness to name a few. In fact , he has played guitar in over thirty working bands, including touring for a year with the Circus Vargas showband( a real travelling tent top circus-( the largest in the world in an 8 piece show band , and has worked with , and /or recorded with countless top flight musicians from many sectors of music, many from a wide range of famous bands such as Tower of Power, Hiroshima, Country Joe and the Fish, Cold Blood, Ike and Tina Turner, Loggins and Messina, Stevie Nicks,Robben Ford,Richie Cole,Horace Silver, Count Basie Orch , Charlie Parker, Cleo Laine ,Albert King, Eddie Money, Kingfish, Suzanne Vega ,an endless list...
These experiences inform Sage's music and flow effortlessly through his hands and voice to deliver " REAL music, from a REAL artist, from REAl place deep down in his well travelled soul.
Sage began his musical journey as a Drummer in a S.F Bay Area Rock and Soul band that once opened for Big a Brother and the Holding Company( with a then unknown Janis Joplin, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Moby Grape, and Buffalo Springfield at the Avalon Ballroom in S.F in 1966! He also spent 10 years from '86-' 96 giving one man performances of Tibetan Sacred Dance as the Protege' to Asoka and Sujata - a sidebar career that is noteworthy in and of itself but one that is better left for another day.
This artist will soothe and MOVE your soul and will also often blow your mind with Jaw dropping guitar licks, though his technique is always in service to the song which he considers to be his true calling even above his well cultivated guitar skills. "Timeless, Masterful, Songcraft" . Sage performs a special house concert Sat June 27th in Portland in addition to several cameo appearances around town during his two week stay.
