When I was asked to join the alumni board , I didn ’ t hesitate . I received an excellent education and wanted to ensure the University and its students continued to prosper . Since its founding by the Sisters of Mercy in 1948 , GMercyU has grown significantly in size and offerings , while maintaining a commitment to student success and the Mercy Mission . I am especially excited about the Griffin Edge , a distinctive , co-curricular program that helps develop important character-building skills . Today ’ s Griffins continue to be exceptional leaders , and their achievements serve as my inspiration to keep giving , something I have done nearly every year since I graduated . Together , we can ensure our alma mater will have the necessary resources to continue developing , educating , and graduating the most prepared and ethical leaders of tomorrow .”

“ “

I made a gift to say thank you for the great education and caring environment that GMercyU offers . I know that the unique experiences and special opportunities here will have a positive impact on my life and future .”
– Kailee Pileggi ' 25 Radiologic Technology
GMercyU gave me the opportunity to earn a degree at a time when , financially , I was not able to attend college full time . As a full-time teacher in the Archdiocesan Teacher Cadet Program , I was eligible for a substantial discount on my tuition in GMercyU ’ s Extension program . This allowed me to attend classes in the evenings and during the summer sessions while retaining my teaching position . My professors were exceptional and the education that I received helped mold me into the teacher that I am today . I have carried my Mercy education throughout my career and have come full circle by now preparing future teachers in the program that supported me . My hope is that , by giving , I am in some small way helping to support current and future students with that same opportunity to gain a quality education and carry the Mercy charism into their professional lives .”
