A Message from the President
Greetings from Gwynedd Mercy University!
It has been an especially exciting and productive year
at Gwynedd Mercy University, and we’ve captured some
highlights here in our annual President’s Report.
In December 2018, we announced a new chapter for our
University with the purchase of the 154-acre property next
door, nearly doubling the size of our main campus. In this
report, you’ll learn more about the East Campus expansion as
well as a few other exciting campus projects such as our new
Loop Road.
In this President’s Report, you’ll also learn about the progress
we’re making on our University’s Strategic Plan, which
was approved in late 2018 and involves the entire campus
community.
We are also excited to share in this report stories of alumni
who are making waves in their respective fields – from
respiratory care to business to psychology. What they all
have in common is that their GMercyU experiences were
made possible by generous scholarships and the support they
received from their professors here on campus.
At GMercyU, we are grateful to have alumni who very generously pay it forward, as Helen Nelson and the late Joan
Chermack Brown did through their respective scholarships. You’ll be able to learn more about the Joan Chermack Brown
Scholarship Fund and the Sister Catherine McMahon Endowed Scholarship Fund in this report.
In this report, you’ll also find a recap of our annual Founders Society Dinner, an update of our Annual Fund, and more.
And finally, if you don’t already, please be sure to follow us on the social media platform of your choice – Facebook,
Instagram, Twitter, or YouTube. It’s the best way to keep up with the very latest happenings around campus, from Move-In
Day to Graduation Day.
Sincerely,
Deanne H. D’Emilio, JD
President
