MEREDITH HOCH-OESCHER,E d D
Dean, Student Success
For 14 years, Meredith Hoch-Oescher has been helping prepare Distinctive Mercy
Graduates from the moment they step on campus as first-year students. With more
than 20 years in academic support and advising, Meredith has found her calling, and
that’s helping students find their passions and overcome obstacles in their academic
careers.
In addition to advising her students and ensuring they are on the track to success,
Meredith continues to teach, with a focus on first-year success. There’s nothing that
Meredith loves more than promoting new innovations in student tutoring and academic
advising.
Prior to her arrival at GMercyU in 2014, Meredith worked as a director of the tutoring
center at a community college, and taught courses in English and Women’s Studies.
Meredith earned her bachelor’s degree in literature from East Stroudsburg University
and her master’s degree in literature from The College of New Jersey, and her EdD
from Immaculata University.
FAVORITE ACCOMPLISHMENT: FUN FACTS:
Nothing makes Meredith prouder
than when her former students
return and tell her how great they’re
doing. Watching each student
transform from their first year to
their senior year is something that
Meredith loves most about her job
here at GMercyU. Being able to
help students find their passion and
be successful is one of her proudest
accomplishments. Cats or Dogs?
