FOUNDERS’ SOCIETY DINNER

wynedd Mercy University honors its most dedicated benefactors at the annual Founders’ Society Dinner. The
Founders’ Society was created to recognize the donors who have contributed $50,000 or more in lifetime gifts, gifts
that serve as a foundation for the University’s growth. Members of the Catherine McAuley Society, which includes
benefactors who have donated more than $1,000, are also in attendance.
This year, GMercyU welcomed six new members into the Founders’ Society.
Gwynedd Mercy University to benefit
graduates of Little Flower who enroll at
the University.
Susan J. Mauro ‘67/’88 - Susan was a
nurse for more than forty years, serving
patients in a variety of areas. To honor
her late mother and father, Susan
established the John Woolf Jordan, II
and Martha Strank Jordan Nursing
Scholarship to ensure that patients in
our area continue to benefit from the
care provided by compassionate and
competent Gwynedd Mercy University
nursing graduates.
Maria Bradley ‘73 - Maria is
the founder and visionary behind
Benefitexpress and has been a Certified
Employee Benefits Specialist for more
than 35 years. Based upon her success
and loyal support of the University,
Maria was named a Distinguished
Alumni in 2013. She is a member of
Little Flower High School’s Hall of
Fame and established a scholarship at
Deanne H. D’Emilio, JD - Deanne H.
D’Emilio, JD joined Gwynedd Mercy
University as its sixth President on
August 1, 2017. President D’Emilio
most recently served as Provost and
Vice President for Academic Affairs
at Carlow University–another Mercy-
sponsored institution. She has been
recognized with outstanding teaching
and advising awards, and has also served
as an Arbitrator of the Court of Common
Pleas of Allegheny County.
Peter and Patricia DeAngelis - Peter
is Executive Vice President, Chief
Financial Officer with Thomas Jefferson
University and Jefferson Health and
a former trustee of Gwynedd Mercy
University. Currently, Peter is guiding
the proposed merger between Jefferson
and Einstein Healthcare Networks.
Peter and Patricia have an established
tradition of supporting Philadelphia
Catholic institutions of higher education.
Charlotte McKines - Charlotte is
a Senior Pharmaceutical Executive
and throughout her extensive career
has successfully positioned some of
the world’s most valued brands. She
serves on numerous boards and leads
the Women’s Leadership Initiative
for Cordaid, a Netherlands-based
international relief organization. As
a longtime member of the Board of
Trustees at the University, Charlotte
established the Clara Glover Scholarship
to benefit students with a demonstrated
financial need.
