MERCY. LIVE MERCY. Other 175 Acts of Mercy: School of Education students collected 221 school supplies as their 175 Acts of Mercy. They packed nine bags of supplies for ABSN students to bring to teachers in the bateyes in the Dominican Republic during Fall Break. The Mission and Values Committee has pledged to crochet 175 prayer squares to distribute to community members in times of need of prayer and support. In collaboration with Campus Ministry, they have been blessing each of the completed prayer squares. GMercyU’s chapter of Sigma Theta Tau, the International Honor Society of Nursing, surpassed their goal of collecting 175 pairs of socks to donate to families in need in the Dominican Republic. • T  he field hockey family will be collecting 175 fun toys, hair ribbons, and other gifts for the children in the Dominican Republic. • The Psychology and Social Services Association (P&SSA) will share 175 inspirational messages and quotes on campus by handing them out to peers, posting sticky notes, etc. • One first-year student has pledged to hold the door open for 175 people. • Student Activities and Leadership will collect 175 plastic grocery bags to ensure they are recycled properly. • Each member of Executive Council will adopt two FYE classes and write words of welcome and encouragement to each student in those classes as well as making personal visits to the two classes. • The students in CIS 437, Topics in Cybersecurity, are going to design, print, and hand out 175 cards on password security to educate students, faculty, and staff on campus. • A staff member will be visiting 175 patients at Parkhouse Nursing Facility to bring them a little cheer and a small gift. • Campbell Solution Center is also collecting 175 pair of sneakers to be recycled. • The Voices of Gwynedd are making a recording of 175 minutes of music, which they will send to the Sisters at the McAuley Convent to enjoy and spread the music of mercy. • One librarian donated 175 items to the “Blessings Bags” collection sponsored by the Episcopal Diocese of Pennsylvania. The bags will be distributed to the homeless in the city of Philadelphia, and her donation included 168 bottles of water, three chapsticks, and four nail clipper sets. PRESIDENT’S REPORT 9
