Rashid is permitted to practice law in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey and upon graduating
Widener School of Law, he served as a law clerk in the Berks County Court of Common Pleas.
In 2013, Rashid was elected as Magisterial District Judge in Lehigh County at the age of 29. As
a MDJ, Rashid sets bail and conducts preliminary arraignments in criminal matters, in addition
to presiding over preliminary hearings. Rashid also presides over traffic offenses and civil cases.
Rashid is actively involved in his community, volunteering as a youth basketball coach and a youth
soccer coach. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Bar Association of Lehigh
County, and the Special Court Judges Association of Pennsylvania. Understanding how his own
success has hinged on the positive influences that others have had on him, Rashid embraces the
opportunity to share his story by speaking at local schools and youth organizations. Rashid and his
wife Shellie have three children, Iyla (age 6), Arel (age 4) and Eloise (age 1).
