Presentations How Cost Effective Are Spine Interventions? | Page 24

How cost effective is spine surgery? ´ The evidence, both peer review published and everyday in the OR, is overwhelming that spine surgery reduces morbidity, pain, and accelerates the patient’s return to daily living. ´ The outcomes from spine surgery have improved steadily over the years and are strong enough to deliver more benefits than costs based on using the QUALY measure. ´ However, both researchers and hospitals qualify their conclusions by saying that more data is needed. ´ Payers are saying they have the data and are weaponizing it with advanced algorithms which will increasingly be a factor in delivering care ´ That is an inadequate solution and the medical community needs to level the playing field with Payers. ´ PearlDiver Atlas is one strategy to do just that.
