CARL NYMAN-SIXTEN (creative director)

Sixten is a figment of imagination, an artist who doesn't exist. His art is represented in the permanent collection of the National Gallery of Australia. In 2009, Sixten was credited for inspiring the cover of the album "21st Century Breakdown" by Green Day. The band also commissioned a painting, which was based on the lyrics of the song Horseshoes & Handgrenades. Sixten is credited as inspiration for the part of "Klottraren" (Swedish for The Doodler), in the Swedish opera Kurfursten. His work has been featured in IdN, NME, Vogue, GQ, Nylon and Akitip, as well as Melbourne Times and Shanghai Times.

The book Stencil Graffiti Capital devotes a chapter to Sixten. Other books that display his works are Stencil Pirates by Josh McPhee, Conform by Saskia Folk and Schablone Berlin by Caroline Koebel & Kyle Schlesinger. Sixten was featured in the documentary RASH in 2005, a film which explores the cultural value of street art in Melbourne, Australia.

As an Art Director, Sixten was nominated for an Emmy in 2006 for his work on the ABC News production Last Days on Earth, in the category "Outstanding Individual Achievement in a Craft: Graphic & Artistic Design".
