Join us for a fun, informative class about industry-specific sanitation! We will be teaching how to identify
skin/scalp conditions, how to talk to guests about skin/scalp conditions gently, how to keep your salon/
spa safe and more.
These topics relate directly to salon/spa success. Guests can be attracted or deterred from a salon based
on it’s cleanliness. We will be explaining how sanitation is often responsible for business prosperity.
This class is for ALL license types and provides 2 CE hours.
Melanie Guzzo has been active in the salon industry for over 15 years. Melanie leads a salon (Virtue Salon)
and education team (Stay Sharp Nation) in Columbus. Her vision is to empower professionals to be
educators and provide elevated education for professionals in the Midwest.

Please join us to learn about: infectious diseases, safe handling of products, MSDA sheets & procedures,
safe handling of implements, cross contamination, protecting the public and your self, how to disinfect
implements and equipment, storing of one time use items. What are one time use items? General salon
sanitation, required laundry methods, correct hand washing techniques, manicures and pedicures
precautions, chemical peels and facial precautions, general salon/spa safety and children in salons.
This class is for ALL license types and provides 2 CE hours.
Cynthia Malcom has 19 years of experience in the beauty industry. She is an internationally certified
CIDESCO Diplomat, Licensed Esthetician, Nail Technician, Licensed Esthetic Instructor, Manicurist
Instructor and published Freelance Writer and Public Speaker. Cynthia is the Education Director and
owner of Edgar Renee’ Aesthetic Education & Consulting Group; based in Columbus, Ohio. She currently
offers classes to licensed professionals from all over the United States teaching advanced seminars
for service providers and business owners, offering a haven for salon and spa professionals through
advanced aesthetic and international certifications, State Board licensed continuing education classes
and resources to further the professional through education within the advanced aesthetics field.
