women of chapman endowment On June 20th, 2018, the Women of Chapman, a philanthropic support group for Chapman University, granted the Women of Chapman Student Filmmaker Endowment Award to five director/producers during the annual membership luncheon at the Balboa Bay Resort. The Women of Chapman Endowed Student Filmmaker Award is a need- and merit-based award available to undergraduate students to be used toward their senior thesis film project. It is a requirement of graduation to produce a short film, which is an added expense to the students. The purpose of this award is to provide valuable resources needed for productions with a unique story concept and/or distinctive opportunity that are in transit to the development of the story; examples might include shooting at a distant location(s), need of a special location, use of special equipment, or use of a student coordinator. The award is project-based and the award recipients are chosen based upon the merits of the script, the uniqueness of the concept/opportunity and its value to the storytelling, and the intended use of the grant and the accomplishments of the individual team members. All undergraduate students in their junior year and enrolled full-time at Dodge College are eligible to apply.
