considered the street Lole Ribara, nowdays Svetogorska, as an art street. He found it highly interesting because several artists had their studios there. But then, by insistence of one of the journalists of Belgrade Radio, who graduated as an archaeologist, after two years of activity, we were dismissed. It didn’t last long, but the exhibitions were exceptional. Slobodan Ilic worked with me. I was the one invented the space of the gallery, so I was in charge of it, but Slobodan Ilic worked likewise as myself. When did you start your work at the City Library (Biblioteca grada)? As the first Department of art history was formed at the City Library, I was the first art historian that was employed as a librarian. At the time, the director was Sima Babic. I was not employed through an open concourse announcement, but I was recommended for the position by Stojan Celic. He was a friend of Sima Babic. I worked there shortly, some six months, at the end of 1985 and the beginning of 1986. Before that, I had a year off from the Academy of Sciences. The City Library had just been renovated and the newfound art history section had disorganised material. All that we found that had to deal with art, we moved it to the attic where the Department was. I organised all the material. Sima Babic asked me to write a paper on the future activities and strategies of the Department and my opinion on what his own actions should be. Indeed, I must say that he most absolutely did realise all I wrote in that paper, even after I left the Library. We often had consultations. The situation of the Department at the times was quite funny. For example, I remember they didn’t even have a catalogue and so I stared forming one. I moved to the department also some old reviews and books they didn’t even know they had. Did you exhibit in the ‘80’s? Without title, 1975 114 As I graduated from University and until I didn’t start working at the Museum, I exhibited intensively. I worked on the intensely lettered sculptures. Those were objects wrapped up, enclosed with newspapers. I exhibited in Slovenia, Montenegro, Croatia, I did lots of exhibitions. The greatest number of my work was present at the exhibition “Flight without a title” at Cvijeta (gallery). I believe I was the first young artist to exhibit at the Biennale of Sculpture of Pancevo. I was present at the first two. I was part also of another exhibition made by Kosta Bodgadovic, in 1983. It was called “World
