Does this intend you had earlier experiences with photography? Photography was a necessity for me, it was important for me to take good photos of my sculptures. Secondly, even during my art history studies, I thought I should learn photography also. Thirdly, I had always been very interested in cinema and photography was half way between cinema and art, so I necessarily studied photography. I started dealing with photography on amateur basis even before university. Then I also did a photography course. I bought some pretty good equipment and I made a certain number of some really good photos. For a couple of years, I even worked as a photography editor at the Photo Cine Review (Foto Kino Revija), if I recall well it was in Photography and World (Fotografija i Svet) section. This engagement was later on very helpful to me for my work at the museum, for I would do by myself all of my slide shots for the lectures. Still, the photography has always been a side activity for me. Just to offer you an example, in 1982. at the Salon of the Contemporary Art Museum, I had organised an exhibition with a title “Polaroid Instant Evening” (“Polaroid Instant Vece”). It was a one-day event. We invited some artists and photographs to take photos with a Polaroid camera, there, on the spot, and those photos were exhibited immediately that very evening.
