the work of Predrag Caranović.
To further underline the atmosphere of the photography, but also to
uphold the idea I added this metal sphere containing a little pillow
satured with Coumarine, an almost forgotten fragrance.

A1. Art of Trangression
In a foreword for an exhibition of Predrag Caranović in 2005,
Jasna Tijardović defines, in a very appropriate way, works produced
after year 2000, assemblages. This term (assemblage) was created
in the 60’s to define creations in sculpture made by assembling (assembler, to collect, to assemble in French, assemblage, gathering)
unambiguously emphasises the tactic of montage (editing, collage)
that Caranović abundantly uses in his work. Montage tactic is Caranović’s way to manipulate the example (exemplum) and disposition
(dispositio) playing with irony and parody in the game of memory
and representation. Collage tactic is present since the beginning, but
it is still most evident in the works produced after year 2000 that
are characterised by a particular manipulation of found objects.
