These two writers do not deserve to be ‘sic-ed’. But this raises the issue of inclusive language and political correctness in our times. Are we going astray in our use of language by insisting that only words that refer directly to both sexes are acceptable? … I recently bought a new NIV; it had an attractive cover with the added feature of lying flat when opened.
