1. OPENING THE FIELD
Suggested Age:- U6 U8 U10- U10 should utilize goalkeepers
Objective: To break up the typical cluster of play so prevalent at the grassroots age by altering the environment.
Activity Outline: A constraints-based activity whereby the goals are reversed and situated 8-10 yards off the end-line. In the second activity, smaller goals are introduced.
The initial activity( PLAY 1) is a true game without constraints.
2. DEBRIEF 1
( 3-4 Minutes)
Per the observations of the coach and via the Socratic Method, probing questions are asked to ascertain player thoughts and observations early in the session. PLAY 2( 2 x 10 Minutes).
Constraints-based activity featuring the goals being reversed and positioned 8 10 yards off the end-line. PLAY 2: Second activity features the same game, but the use of smaller goals are introduced.
Use this time for a hydration break while the field is being managed from constraint 1 to 2. Be sure players are monitored by an assistant or parent.
