DEVELOP EFFECTIVE ATTACKING PLAY & PARTNERS IN THE FLANKS

1. POSITION-SPECIFIC 3V2 WARM-UP ACTIVITY
( 15x11) playing area with an end zone( 6x11) with small goal on the end. The line separating the end zone from the playing area is the offsides line( Law 11).
Defending green serves the ball in and joins up to defend.
Attacking team emphasis: » 7 penetrate off dribble » 7 combines with 10( wall pass) » 7( diagonal Dribble) 2 overlaps » Underlaps, 7 or 2 play them in » These three players interchange: rotation in the flank versus linear » GREENS reacquire possession, play into small goal at opposite end
2. 3V2 WARM-UP GAME IN THE FLANK
Players involved are 7, 11, 8, 10, 2 & 3 in the flanks, alternating sides.
» 3 red attacking role: rotation rather than linear movement
» Overlap, widest player, inside diagonal dribble( cue)
» 1v1 widest player penetrates off the dribble( serve)
» Most central player of the attacker’ s underlap
» Timing of the 9, quality of the run: avoid a straight line » GREEN plays ball into and joins » GREEN reacquires ball and plays into central counter goal near center circle
