Poetry Out Loud with Dasan Ahanu : Workshop and Performance
Piedmont Poet Laureate , community organizer , curator , educator , spoken word artist , songwriter , emcee , and loyal hip hop enthusiast Dasan Ahanu headlines this poetry slam . Ahanu is the co-founder and managing director of Black Poetry Theatre and has led the Bull City Slam Team in winning the largest regional poetry slam in the country . Local teens will work with Ahanu in a workshop prior to the show and will open the event with their poetry .
