Nepal’s Constitution explicitly confers right to clean and healthy en- vironment on every citizen. This way, the Supreme Court (under Article 133) and High Courts (under Article 144) are under obligation to ensure judicial remedies on the questions relating to violation of fundamental rights. It’s a truism that the mere judicial pills could not be a universal remedy for all environmental ills. The administrative and police accountability, grassroots level governance, public consciousness and civic sense and corporate social responsibility are also required while dealing with environmental challenges.
