Multisensory exhibition
challenges
1. We create in 2 weeks the project of exhibition.
The curator wants here to prove that artists can also invent in a short period of time, intense and uncompromising
conceptual artworks. They have been welcomed in Art Villa Garikula, a residency for artists in the Georgian
countryside. There, they have been working on the definition of the concept of female intimacy. Everyday, the team
of artists would start to work in group, warming up their voice, their body and exchanging about their intimate
experiences. Then, they started to create duet to create concrete artworks for the exhibition: video, texts,
photography, installations, polyphonies, artistic rituals, drawings.
2. We open the exhibition only during the night, when the concentration of everyone, and the ability of opening
up is more easy.
3. We find a venue which is abandoned where we can create our own identity, without being dependant on any
institution policy.
4. We embrace the audience in a deep process. The unusual stake is that the exhibition will allow everyone to
observe, touch, listen, and even taste and smell the artworks. Throughout this new multisensory concept of
exhibition, these 20 female artists thus intent to break down longstanding stereotypes and social barriers around
the women’s place in a patriarchal society.

After the success of this first residency of HEROINES collective in Georgia, we continue the process for 2020.
