I picked "journalism" from a list of choices on the form that asked for majors. At that point, I was into yearbook, but also English, drama, art, and music -- so it was really a random choice. I knew I got it right my freshman year, when I interviewed the editor of the Daily Nebraskan for an English class assignment and he offered me a job at the end of our interview. That was it. I was hooked.

My degree is in marketing because my father said he would pay for my college if I got a business degree instead of an Arts major. Many things about marketing were too "grey" for me to be comfortable with. Once I found code, I found I can lose myself in code the same way I lose myself in my art. It’s this never ending ocean of knowledge and creation.
