Morning breaks...

At summer’s decline...

Along sandy pineland trails

her pink/white daffodil Scrubs

‘catch’ diffused, dappled rays.

Even her pup gingerly

sidesteps misaligned shadows.

And here is God

IN Medic and Pup

IN granule and well-worn path

IN propulsion and nurturance

IN this day’s Awakening

Imbuing splintered sunlight

Awaiting our claim.

Midday ascension...

Amidst the Congo Basin...

Two young Mountain Gorillas

sweep deforested habitats,

gathering bamboo and thistle.

Agricultural clearing for monetary gain

renders a feckless displacement.

And here is God

IN lush, green jungles and empty spaces

IN survival and lack

IN charity and dominion

IN compassion and kinship

Supposing none higher,

Elevating our claim.

Fiery twilight...

Kathmandu’s blood colors end and begin...

The Earth bears witness

as it plays a part

in its own fragile state.

At times subaqueous,

now arisen and unwieldy.

And here lies God

IN rubble and quake

IN frozen rain and shelter

IN monks (now) deceased and temples crumbled

IN the sweet kiss of daybreak

Resurrecting IN Unity

Renewing our claim.
