September celebrates our sixth anniversary of producing the Connector Magazine. One of the benefits of not having to rely on sponsors and advertisers is that we can make command decisions about the look and feel of our magazine. Most important, we can adhere closely to our mission: We share real stories about real people who are doing amazing things in this world.
Beginning this month, we are now a single-feature-article magazine. New York City-based photojournalist Bill Lulow writes about his trip through the heart of the Delta Blues country that culminated in his visit to the Delta Blues Museum in Clarksdale, Mississippi. This article was planned long before the passing of the legendary Aretha Franklin. What better way to celebrate destiny than to dedicate this issue to the many thousands of entertainers who made the Mississippi Delta the home of the blues.
