PR for People Monthly May 2015 | Page 5

Dear friends, colleagues and clients: Greetings! In this May issue, we look at many types of nonprofit organizations and the “good works” people are doing to make a difference. Pro bono work is more often about the heart than it is about the actual work. Professionals use their time and talent as a gift to support a cause. It’s about saving sick babies, unwanted kittens and giving homeless people a place to rest their weary heads. Pro-bono means using every resource possible to make the world a better place.

More than ever, nonprofit organizations, foundations and charitable causes need you to donate your money and your service because funding is, simply put, scarce.

These are tough times for foundations and nonprofits. Whether or not you have a job, whether your business is up or down, you need to help. You need to make a lasting contribution to your community. Can you give your time or your money? How you choose to give depends on your resources. Ask yourself: Will your gift help children? Will your gift save lives? Will your gift create beauty and raise the bar in pursuit of excellence? Is your gift an extension of who you are? Whom you choose to give to defines the character and soul of your professional brand.

Be rich in heart and brave enough to take a stand. Give.
