“I was born in Canada and raised in the suburbs of Chicago,” Serena Wadhwa said. “As someone who is bi-cultural, I think the greatest obstacle in coming to America is balancing two very different cultures. The greatest joy I have experienced in being an American is when I was sworn in for my citizenship. One day I hope to open my own counseling center.”

Serena Wadhwa, Psy.D., LCPC, CADC, received her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from The Illinois School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University in Chicago, specializing in health psychology.

Dr. Wadhwa is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, has a Master’s in Counseling and is a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. She is the Director of TriQual Living Center (www.triqualiving.com) and consulted as a Sr. Technology Transfer Specialist and Access to Recovery Coordinator for the Great Lakes ATTC. She has presented on topics, including stress, chronic pain, addiction, cultural competency, and relapse prevention, in Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana and Ohio. Dr. Wadhwa has published articles on topics relating to addiction, stress, and health.
