PR for People Monthly JUNE 2015 | Page 4

Dear Friends, Colleagues and Clients:

Greetings!

From the late 1990s until the present time, there has been an increasing tendency for large companies, especially in manufacturing and technology, to outsource work to offshore teams in India, China, and Vietnam. With the emerging technology of robotics, even offshore deployment will no longer be needed. The job market is undergoing a major paradigm shift more radical than the last decade.

While the latest economic indicators show a decrease in the unemployment rate, there is sufficient evidence that new job creation continues to be stalled and the labor market is still lacking roughly 10.9 million jobs.

Not only are fewer jobs being created, but with the latest changes in technology, robotics, and artificial intelligence, many old jobs are being destroyed. Fewer businesses and jobs means the competition for jobs, minds, and hearts is more fierce than ever. The competition for job opportunities and resources is likely to grow even more competitive. In America, new job creation will continue to shrink at a faster rate.

How are you preparing yourself to compete for a slice of pie that will undoubtedly grow smaller?
