Employment and development opportunities will abound. Designers of all sorts will find work in graphics, illustration, coding and HMD product design. A new category of AR and VR Research and Development professionals will emerge. VR game design will flourish the moment the Oculus Rift goes on sale. Animators will enjoy vast new opportunities, assignments and jobs. Product development labs and outsource testing facilities will proliferate. Specialized work in video and audio design, CGI, and coding for AR and VR products is already underway. Many existing and new companies will soon enter the field.

Sales, marketing and distribution opportunities are in their early stages. Ground floor positions are available as AR and VR are on the precipice of major cultural adoption. Canny recruiters will create AR/VR departments to supply the needs of companies expanding into the field.

The reality of consumer acceptance and deployment of AR & VR in an abundance of categories is a clear signal of the emergence of new jobs and opportunities. Creative product developers, engineers and marketers will seize the early opportunities as this market grows.
