In my years of working as a PR practitioner, I’ve had the opportunity to cultivate great relationships with the media. As the media evolves as an industry, there is an increasing blurring between PR, journalism, advertising and social media. These days, I’m doing more journalism, and my reporter friends are doing more of what used to be considered PR writing. No one is sure where this new form of “hybrid journalism” will go. If there’s one thing we’re certain of, it’s that we’re all working together to communicate the great stories that need to be told to the world. Welcome to Randy Woods who is acting as Managing Editor for this issue of The Connector. I’ve known Randy for years through his work as a writer and blogger for the Seattle Times and as former managing editor of Seattle Business magazine. We are delighted to have Randy on board for this issue of The Connector! —PV
