PR for People Monthly July 2017 | Page 5

Beauty begins with a smile. Conjuring stillness, reverence and awe, experiencing beauty has a tendency to stop us in our tracks. Consider all of the moments in your life when you found beauty or beauty found you. Your life was forever transformed in a good way. Throughout our lives, we cherish beautiful memories and they become part of us.

In this issue of the Connector we look at beauty through many different lenses. John de Graaf’s article And Beauty for All asserts that “all Americans appreciate beauty, regardless of their political views, origin, or creed, and that working to restore beautiful landscapes and create beautiful places can bring us together and build community in polarizing times.”

Having recently returned from a road trip through Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons, I can attest that people of all ages, ethnicities, religious and political persuasions came from all across America to witness beauty in America’s great national parks. In the parking lots, car licenses represented the full range of states from Alabama to Wyoming. People of all races and stripes sat in awe patiently waiting for Old Faithful to make a showing, and when it did, there was a collective sound of gasps, sighs and camera clicks. Everyone was smiling.

So while our July issue has articles referencing many aspects of human beauty, aesthetics, fashion, body image, plastic surgery and dental restoration, at the end of the day, true beauty is much more than skin deep, and it does make us smile.
