“Having lived, for over two years now, half way across the globe from my home country, I have realized that beauty is as much subjective, as a collective term. It is the connotation for things/people/places that have received the approval of a certain group of people, depending on culture, personal preferences and era. With this approval, they seem to stand above others and gain more attention and privileges, making people compete to gain the status of being “beautiful.”
