FROM THE EDITOR

I've returned from a whirlwind trip to the east coast: NYC, Boston, New Hampshire and Camp Neddick, Maine. In NYC, I attended a conference on email newsflashes and heard presentations given by Eater, the HuffPo and The New Yorker. The operative takeaway for all of us was to learn: Always Be Trying!

Always Be Trying is another way of saying, with regards to the media, no one knows what the hell is going on!

I don’t know if I needed to travel 3,000 miles to hear Always Be Trying. I tend to Always Be Trying on a daily basis, from business to my many hours spent each week in ballet class! And as a writer, I tweak my sentences with greater precision and clarity than I need to talk about here. I’ll spare you the details as to just how much work it takes for me to write a book. My latest work, YONKERS Yonkers!, will be released on March 15. In NYC, I walked the streets of Little Italy and took lots of notes—envisioning my next book, Two Dead Blondes.

Happy February! Happy Valentine’s Day. Put down your cell phone, quit checking your messages. Give your sweetheart a kiss, a treat, and your undivided attention—who knows what will happen next!
