LETTER from the EDITOR

Dear Friends and Colleagues:

Since we're in the middle of awards season, with the Golden Globes behind us and the Oscars just weeks away, this issue is dedicated to Entertainment & the Arts.

To highlight a few features in this issue of The Connector, we dive into the world of stand-up comedy with Roberta Rockwell, who shares details about her career, and hear how popular comic Wali Collins came to practice his craft. We learn about the business of investing in show business from Oliver Roth in his piece, "How To Succeed in Broadway Without Really Trying." Also included are touching accounts of people becoming singers, actors, and dancers, and stories about owning and running businesses related to the industry, such as costume shops and small arts theaters.

We give special thanks to the Gotham Comedy Club for allowing us to use their location for this month's cover photo, and special thanks to Leigh-Ann Weingarten, marketing manager of the Gotham Comedy Club.
