Say hello to Lucinda Cross, Chief Activator of The Activate Movement, and a Bronx native!
Lucinda Cross is a best-selling author, internationally known speaker, spokesperson and energetic teacher of personal and professional development. In 2006, she started the brand Activate Your Life Today! and is the president of Activate WorldWide Inc., a leadership services firm that specializes in the delivery of personal and professional development enrichment programs.
Lucinda creates and delivers products and services that include but are not limited to seminars, workshops and curricula and training that are developed for professional women, millennials and at-risk youth.
Lucinda was born in the Bronx on Gunhill Road and lived in the Gunhill projects next to Co-op City. Lucinda’s favorite memory living in the Bronx is the block parties in the community, with the skateboarders at Skate Key on Allerton Avenue.
Her favorite places in the Bronx are The Bronx Zoo and Botanical Gardens, as well as The Royal Coach Diner on Boston Road where everyone would go after house parties and block parties. Lucinda describes the Bronx as being unique and peculiar, having the best pizza and empanadas in the boroughs, and real ice tea – especially on Southern Boulevard, where it feels very "Bronx" with music playing outside.
Lucinda now resides in New Rochelle and often visits the Bronx once or twice a month, as her husband owns a barbershop there. The borough has changed from the Bronx Lucinda knew growing up. Somehow, with so much rebuilding and remodeling, it doesn't feel like the friendly community it once was.
