LETTER from the EDITOR
-PATRICIA VACCARINO-
Dear Friends and Colleagues: Greetings! Our cover story about the Legendary Ad man George Lois is meant to teach us a thing or two about the highest level of creative thinking.
Mr. Lois believes creativity can solve any problem. Furthermore, he asserts If you don’t believe creativity can solve any problem, then you should not be in advertising or design. The same principle can be applied to startups. If you don’t believe creativity can solve any problem you encounter, then think twice about being an entrepreneur.
Our Startup Nation issue features stories about entrepreneurs from all over the country. In this issue we talk to a Russian high-tech entrepreneur, Abylay Ospan who divides his time between Moscow and Miami. Seattle businessman Ken Woolcott recently started the Emerald City School to serve children who have learning issues and special needs. And you might have seen 17-year old Benjamin Stern on Shark Tank when Mark Cuban invested in his startup Nohbo.
Our ground reporter from Seattle, JoAnne Dyer, is now writing monthly stories covering tribal news. We also have reporters on the ground all over America. If you’re interested in writing for us, then send me a note and tell me how you would like to contribute.
Stay cool in the August heat!
