Visual Fashion and Merchandising is a very fun and interesting class that many students enjoy taking. So far this year, the students have learned about color for branding, fashion through the decades, clothing brand collaborations, and, most recently, store designs. Students were able to create their own outfits, logos, and store-front windows and bags for the store they designed. For the store window, the students were assigned to create a window display for a bike store. Even though it was the same type of store, each student had a very different design with different themes. Several storefronts grabbed shoppers' attention by focusing on different holidays such as Christmas or Halloween. Some of the major projects coming up in the class include recycling/reinventing old clothes into completely new outfits as well as designing a duck tape prom dress. These are just a couple of projects that all students in class look forward to doing. Along with fun and exciting projects, the class also learns about new fashion trends and interesting fashion news and students have the opportunity to go on at least one, and sometimes more, field trips throughout the year. The class's combination of business skills and creativity, fun projects, and activities are why so many students enjoy taking this class!
