Girls Soccer
The girl's soccer team began their preseason on August 22nd, working hard every day to achieve the great season ahead. The girls' season officially kicked off on September 8th, with an opening game against Jefferson where they earned a 2-0 win. As the season progressed the girls piled on many wins and qualified for the Morris County Tournament where they were seeded 7th, making it to the quarter-final game where they lost to Chatham 4-1. They also qualified for the NJSIAA Section 1, Group 1 tournament where they were seeded 4th. They advanced to the quarter-finals thanks to a convincing 3-0 victory over Butler. In the quarter-finals, the girls were yet again victorious, this time with a 2-0 triumph over Lenape Valley. The team faced number 1 seeded Waldwick in the semifinals, tying 1-1 in regulation and eventually losing 5-4 on penalties in their season’s last game. Junior Shayla Osmanski led the team with the most goals tallying 17 and the
most points totaling 46, and Sophomore Gianna DeSimoni came a close second with 16 goals and 38 points. Junior Alex Ortega had the most assists on the team finishing with a total of 14 and the third most points with 36. The final record for the girls was 16-2-3 (16 wins, 2 ties, and 3 losses).
