“I love showing students that psychology is all around you in everything you do, and that so many careers involve psychology in some way”. - Ms. Staropoli

Dive into the study of the mind and human behavior in our AP Psychology class. So far this year, students have learned about perspectives in psychology, research methods, ethics of experiments, and anatomy. While learning about parts of the brain and their functions, students completed a project where they created models of the brain. These detailed models became a hands-on reference when trying to understand how the complex brain works. The model was a chance for students to display what they know and also display their creativity. Later in the year, students learn about sensation and perception as well as participate in various labs to truly gain a better insight into human behavior. Other topics studied in this class include states of consciousness, cognitive psychology/brain development, and clinical psychology. This class is a fun and interesting way for students to develop a deeper understanding and insight into what is happening in the brain.
