About Me Yolanda R. performs R&B/Soul, Pop, Jazz and Gospel. Singing since age 12, Yolanda R. has graced recordings, performances and choral groups with her soulful Soprano. A native New Yorker, Yolanda trained classically at the famous LaGuardia High School of Music & the Arts (featured in the movie "Fame"), then won a vocal scholarship to Harlem School for the Arts. Since then she has performed at various venues, open mics, karaoke bars, organizations andschoolsthroughout NYC and NJ. Her first original song “Why” was released in Dec. 2011. Years ago, after ending a short term relationship on a sour note, she wrote the song. Yolanda R. wrote the melody, lyrics and vocal arrangement and Phillip Carroll produced the song. In Dec. 2010 she was the featured vocalist on Harmonik's "Nervana Remix” electronica single. Once again, she is the featured vocalist on a collaboration with Aka:man, performing a cover of "Life's What You Make It", which was released in November 2012. She has met with increasing success in 2012. Her music has been in the top 10 on radio shows and she has been the Featured Artist on over half a dozen websites this year, including Poze Productions - where she was voted a June 2012 VIP! She is also currently a VIP Featured Artist in Poze Magazine (pgs.49-50)! This July she just released her first EP/CD entitled “Yolanda’s Voice” which is a compilation of originals, standards and some creatively reworked covers. Her mini EP "A Few Of My Thoughts..."- a set of all original tunes- was just released in November 2012. She is presently working on a full length album to be released by the end of 2013.
