SAP's 16th annual activation of its largest volunteering initiative – SAP Global Month of Service – evolved significantly to achieve its mission of engaging employees in social change. With limited chances to gather in person, the CSR team focused instead on the opportunity to share and enable, because tackling inequality in the world is as much about learning as it is about taking action.
Month of Service brought SAP's sustainability strategy to life, sharing lessons in climate action, equality, digital inclusion, and inclusive & social entrepreneurship. This unique campaign connected employees directly to the WHY behind SAP’s investment in each of the sustainabilty pillars.
CONNECTING EMPLOYEES WITH PURPOSE
2020 SAP GLOBAL
MONTH OF SERVICE
GENYOUTH NORTH AMERICA
In 2020 the SAP GENYOUth partnership was able to shift quickly to support food insecurity brought on as a resulting of COVID-19. SAP and GENYOUth organized resources to build a web application, SAP4Kids which pulls in existing data sets and school information to create a platform for communities looking for information in a crisis. What differentiates SAP4Kids from other platforms is the inclusion of other resources like workforce assistance and telemedicine, which account for the growing needs of families facing unemployment and mental and physical health challenges. To get the site off the ground 241 SAP employees manually entered much of the data needed. SAP also contributed to the Emergency School Meal Delivery Fund.
