Powering Opportunity SAP Corporate Social Responsibility 2020 In Review - Page 6

The world was facing a global education crisis prior to COVID-19. For this reason, offering inclusive education and workforce development programs for underserved people, communities, and nations remains SAP's core focus.

2020 fast-tracked the opportunity to pivot and innovate around increasing the reach of our digital programs. The International Labour Organization estimates that 73% of young people have experienced school closures. Given the implications on in-school learning, SAP has enabled its portfolio of digital skill and 21st century learning offerings to run virtually, increasing the engagement of youth who need it most. Innovative techniques, including development of apps, robust online educator enablement (i.e. train-the-trainer), and grassroots community networking, ensured that we meet youth where they are. In partnership with strategic nonprofit organizations, our hope is to provide solutions to ensure that youth do not fall behind.
