People laughed and made fun of him while he was building the ark, but he believed God, and he cared more about what God said than what man said. And it ended up saving his life. The best thing you can do is to “fear God and keep His commandments, for this is man’s all” (Ecclesiastes 12:13). It will save your life too. Seven Good Things That Come from Fearing God 1. The blessing of God’s provision. “Oh, fear the LORD, you His saints! There is no want to those who fear Him” (Psalm 34:9). 2. The blessing of God’s protection. “The fear of the Lord leads to life, and he who has it will abide in satisfaction; he will not be visited with evil” (Proverbs 19:23). 3. The blessing of God’s mercy. “For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is His mercy toward those who fear Him” (Psalm 103:11). 4. The blessing of God’s goodness. “Oh, how great is Your goodness, which You have laid up for those who fear You, which You have prepared for those who trust in You in the presence of the sons of men!” (Psalm 31:19). 5. The blessing of God’s abundance. “By humility and the fear of the LORD are riches and honor and life” (Proverbs 22:4). 6. The blessing of God’s response. “He will ful?ll the desire of those who fear Him; He also will hear their cry and save them” (Psalm 145:19). 7. The blessing of God’s freedom. “By the fear of the LORD one departs from evil” (Proverbs 16:6).
